French term or phrase: le nu d'une façade
I am not sure how to translate the French word "nus" in English (or the expression) in the following sentence:

la surface totale mesurée à partir de l'axe médian des cloisons communes et à partir des nus extérieures des murs de façade, y compris les murs et les escaliers.

neutral  B D Finch: As this is related, in the Asker's text, to dimensions, it might have occurred to you to wonder how much space is taken up by paint.

The face of a facade wall

See Dicobat.

This is nothing much to do with whether it is painted or not, as that wouldn't change much about the dimensions. However, it does mean the surface as finished, i.e. with any render (if used), but excluding any projections such as mouldings.

-> I suggest you consult Dicobat or another specialist dictionary. The meaning, in the context of measuring dimensions, has nothing to do with paint.

agree  Cyril Tollari: Yes, "nu" is an architectural term in FR. Just means the surface is flat https://www.meubliz.com/definition/surface_nue/
