First of all thank you for your reply Bertrand, which I used word for word. I did consider the alternatives suggested by philgoddard but in the end I agree with you, I think your solution looks fine.

Hi Phil, I think my answer fits well here. However, it is only one way of wording it (we could say: ‘’alternating helical regions and globular domains’’ or ‘’ pattern of alternating helical regions and globular domains’’). In my research, I found that domain was more often used than ‘’region’’ with ‘’globular’’, which is why I used it in my answer. But, IMHO, there would be nothing wrong with ‘’region’’.
