English translation: lower panic limit

Medical - Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-) / Lab report
French term or phrase: la limite panique basse
This is from a 'bacteriologie virologie parasitologie' report on stool samples from a patient. It says:

'Valeur inférieur a` la limite panique Basse'

There is also 'Valeur supérieure a` la limite panique Haute'

What on earth does panique mean here?! I can find barely any hits on google.fr for it!

I have translated 'Valeur inférieure `a la normale basse' as 'value less than the lower limit of normal'

Any help would be appreciated! :)

English translation:lower panic limit
Explanation:
"panique" is "panic", and I'm nor surprised at all it's being used.
I don't see any need to make it sound milder in the translation.
There are probably all the reasons in the world "to panic" if a virus count is out of the normal.

There is a possibility for panic value or critical value

this would be value under the lower panic/critical threshold

neutral  Nikki Scott-Despaigne: Not really a typo, probably simply a bit of sloppy usage. As you say, looks like it should be "panic value", used as a synonym for "critical value", around 3 500 Ghits, which is probably a good sign! Ex :http://www.stanfordlab.com/pages/panicvalues.htm

-> typo was more a question, I have seen critical value used in reports but never pani values in this context.

"Value" rather than limit, as suggested by DrManu49 seems to be a logical explanation for this one. Perhaps a sloppy choice of term with "limit" whereas "value" seems to be used.

Medical decision level, decision level, Xc. A concentration of analyte where medical interpretation is critical for patient care. There may be several different medical decision levels for a particular analyte. Xc should provide guidance for selecting relevant estimates of stable imprecision, stable inaccuracy, and matrix inaccuracy. This is analogous to identifying a critical Target Value (TV) for assessing test performance and validating QC design.
