Context: determination of the sub-cytotoxic concentration of a product. A mixture of virus and product is tested on a Sephadex gel column. I'm hoping this will be really easy for a biologist. I'm not sure of what I've found.
E.g.

the cell wall


Explanation:
"nappe" = cover; the cover of a cell is the cell wall, so I'm pretty sure "the cell wall" is the accepted biological term.
