agree  Cyril Tollari: Excellent! It would read the same without the word "production", Yes, 'straitjacked' is excellent too. Crispé in this context means 'sans souplesse', without flexibility.

Hello
My reason for proposing "stuck" is due to what follows (a dead-end of some sort). As you cannot be "frozen" in a dead in, the choice perhaps depends on how you are going to translate "impasse" which was not actually part of the question but could have been included perhaps.
