sounds like a condition for something to happen or not to happen -

we could make a list of possible scenarios - all a priori equally credible!!!

- there is dot on a radar screen saying something, but before acting on that information we need to make sure that "que ledit appareil existe actuellement" i.e. it's not some error.

- there is a description of an "aircraft" in some contract for say chartering, but before this contract can have any effect there must an actual aircraft of that description available!

- etc etc

The asker should have provided proper context, but I think we can guess what comes before this. Something like "The charter [we know that from their other question] will take place".
And I don't think we should be using 19th-century language, "the said".
