“Preventive fraction (PF), also called preventable fraction, is a calculation that can be derived from relative risk or odds ratio.
It may be used when an exposure seems to reduce the risk (in opposition to attributable risk percent), and gives the percentage of cases that can be prevented if a population is exposed to an intervention, compared to an unexposed population.”

"PREVENTABLE FRACTION (POPULATION)
In a situation in which exposure to a given factor is believed to protect against a disease (or other outcome), the preventable frac-tion in the population is the proportion of the disease (in the population) that would be prevented if the whole population were exposed to the factor. This measure must be interpreted with caution, as part or all of the apparent protective effect may be due to other factors associated with the apparent protective factor."

"The prevented fraction (PF) is the proportion of disease occurrence in a population averted due to a protective risk factor or public health intervention. The PF is not equivalent to the population attributable risk (AR)."

Bedankt!
