Finnish term or phrase: Esimiehet kertovat henkilökohtaisia asioita eteenpäin
From an employee feedback questionnaire:

"Esimiehet kertovat henkilökohtaisia asioita eteenpäin."

Would you take this to mean that the managers reveal others' personal matters (things that are perhaps meant to be private) to their superiors?

In this context, I'm not quite sure what direction "eteenpäin" indicates. It's also not clear whether "henkilökohtaisia asioita" refers to other people's personal matters, or the managers' own (or both).

English translation:Supervisors share personal information
Explanation:
To me it sounds like the supervisors/managers share/relay the employee's private/personal information/matters; if it was their own, it would be "kertovat henkilökohtaisia asioitaan". It's hard to say without further context, whether eteenpäin here refers to upwards or just "onwards", i.e. gossiping.
