If you take a look at my explanation, you will see I've written "the principle of equity" too. In fact I had both in my mind, but considering the asker's sentence I prefer to put "the principle of justice" in the headline.
Although wondering with your scrutiny in finding a difference between justice and equity, I don't agree with you. I think the context gives a better clue to the asker than our attempts to find the differences bettween two words!
