This was where Nawab Muhammad Hayat Khan, a feudal landlowner awarded "The Star of India" by the British, had lived a hundred or so years ago. My family was known throughout India "as the Hayats of Wah.

Simon, what is the original English sentence here? My guess is that is "...we were his direct (or immediate) descendants..."

I suspect "dereje yek" was used in translation to show the close family/blood tie, rather than anything else.

I think 100% here means those children born through Nawab sons and girls but most preferably through male line( sons of Nawab,s sons)and in fact these are so to say " top line".These are called in persian as "نوه" singular form of "نوادگان" but children of these so called نوادگان would be called"result" or نتیجه ans so on to say نبیره (result of result) and ندیده( meaning "not seen result of result).These of course are the approximate meaning of the words I,ve mentioned.

It appears that there is a fault in the Persian translation. I should have made clear that I am reading with a view to correction the Persian translation of an English original. The English original runs, "This was Wah, this was my home, this was, after all, safety. This was where Nawab Muhammad Hayat Khan, a feudal landowner awarded "The Star of India" by the British had lived a hundred years or so ago. My family was known throughout India and Pakistan as the Hayats of Wah.".
