coronary clearance

English translation: sufficient space allowed so as not to interfere with the coronary arteries

English term or phrase: coronary clearance
"Once the annular size has been determined utilizing the cylindrical end of the sizer, the flanged end of the sizer is used to mimic the placement of the sewing cuff on the top of the annulus and ensure appropriate coronary *clearance*."

I am not sure about the meaning of "clearance" in this context: does it mean that the surgeon should verify that the artificial valve placement does not interfere with the coronary arteries?

Many thanks in advance for any clarification.

Selected answer:sufficient space allowed so as not to interfere with the coronary arteries
Explanation:
clearance: the distance by which one thing clears another; the space between them

I think this is it because of the words "size" and "placement".
