The refractive power of a toric (cylindrical) lens Explanation: As you are most likely aware, there is a refractive disorder called astigmatism, which can be corrected by special cylindrical lenses, be they spectacles or contact lenses. In your paper, changes in "refractive cylinder" most likely mean changes in the refractive power of the cylindrical lenses required for correction of the astigmatism. Which, in turn, reflects the degree of astigmatism the patients develop as a result of the studied procedure. |
