English term or phrase: service off
I’m translating a P60 end of year certificate for 2015-2016. Above the ‘’for the employer’s use’’ box it says “SOMERSET AREA SERVICE OFF’’( https://tinyurl.com/ycgdt5kc ) I’ve had a look at P60 forms for previous years (e.g. 2007) and it appears that this phrase in inverted commas might refer to the HMRC office name concerned. But I don’t understand “service off” in this context.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
