sounds unnatural and/or suspect Explanation: 1. 'new xxxx 's items' is a rather unlikely construction in English. If 'xxxx's' is supposed to be a plural, the 's should be eliminated or the phrase should be reworded. If it's supposed to be a possessive, it must be reworded. 2. 'and, after all, ...' might well be 'and ultimately...' (depending on the context and intended meaning). 3. 'ameliorate the stand' is more likely 'ameliorate the condition'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 23 mins (2005-07-28 13:16:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- revised comments based on supplementary context: I\'d suggest \'inserting new XXXX and XXXX items and ultimately improve the profitability of the stand\' -- but the entire sentence is poorly worded in English and should be reworked. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 24 mins (2005-07-28 13:17:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, that should be \'...improving the profitability...\'. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 25 mins (2005-07-28 13:18:24 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ... and probably \'adding new XXXX...\' |
