Explanation:
There is at least one famous "Magnus Magnusson" I am aware of. He was born in Reykjavik (Iceland), but brought as a baby to Edinburgh, where his father was Icelandic Consul. He was educated at Edinburgh Academy and Oxford University. Magnusson became a journalist with the Scottish Daily Express and then Scotsman newspapers, before joining the BBC, where he was responsible for programmes such as Chronicle and BC: The Archaeology of the Bible lands as well as Mastermind, which ran for 25 years.

His name is spelled Magnús, with a comma over the u.
First name/last name courtesy rules don´t apply here in Iceland where Magnússon simply means he is the son of Magnús (his father´s name is Magnús).
His name is Magnús and he IS Magnússon.

neutral  Java Cafe: Yet, in the international context, particiularly in the case of Magnus Magnusson of the BBC, I have heard him being referred to to as Mr. Magnusson by his closest colleagues and friends. That may have been because of his domicile in the United Kingdom.
