treaty of surrender Explanation: There is a difference between a treaty of surrender and an armistice: treaty of surrender: one of the parties surrenders, it loses and it has to accept the other parties' conditions armistice: "An armistice is a formal agreement of warring parties to stop fighting (taken from wikipedia).
