English term or phrase: middle childhood
Dear colleagues, I was wondering whether “middle childhood” might mean "school-age children" in the context below (the preceding sentence refers to “preschool peers", so I thought "school-age" might be right here)
. According to some texts, middle childhood is the age between 6 and 12, but there doesn’t seem to be complete agreement… The text below is American English.
Thank you very much for your help!

  -> Many thanks:-)

agree  philgoddard: This is not set in stone - it's vague, like "middle age". But 6-12 is about right in my opinion.

  -> Thanks:-) well, useful in terms of general school age groupings. Of course there may be slight variations

agree  AllegroTrans: about right, as Phil says

agree  Cilian O'Tuama: There or thereabouts (though punctuation/hyphenation would need serious tweaking, but that's not the issue here)

  -> Thanks! I'd avoid multiple hyphens by rephrasing (like in links) as "ages/years/range/group 6-12" or "children in the 6-12 age group" etc. It's being translated FROM English anyway

agree  Tina Vonhof: It fits in the three groups asker mentions.
