And yes, it says "ignoring" in the first sentence, but it continues with "at least in terms of public, onstage interactions" and "but he does answer them—each of them, at least in private." So I don't think the messages will necessarily be ignored because he may still need to find out whether "someone is a regular hater or an off- the-rails customer" - do you see what I mean? Sending one email back and forth may not be enough to determine that, but he wants to keep a record of the conversation. Maybe, a customer even threatens him or his family (the subject is "crazies," after all) - happens quite often these days. Then you need more than an unsubstantiated claim to go to the police. At the same time, telling customers everything will be archived is like giving them a warning that they should be careful with what they're saying from now on. |
