Sorry, the whole text didn't fit in the box provided. Hope it comes out making sense. 'they' in the second sentence refers to the two sizes, so each size category should be singular. 'Former' and 'latter' sound better to me. The semi-colon does the job of 'whereas' without suggesting a positive or negative might follow. 'to be made on' could be optional.

Could you clarify why you need to reformulate this. Obviously it's basically saying that A is higher quality and tastes better, while B is a cheaper version with the disadvantages inherent in using less good quality stuff.
