English term or phrase: circus mix
I'm working on an elementary school lunch menu and "circus mix" appears in one of the lists. It goes like this:

Monday:
Turkey hog dog
French fries
*** Circus Mix ***
Chilled fruit mix
Milk

Could anyone explain to me what it means? I've looked it up on Google, but all I can get is music or circus related stuff. Could it be a brand of cookies or something? Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I have never understood why Circus Peanuts (orange, gooey, diabetic coma-inducing, peanut-shaped candy) are still available. I have never known anyone who actually likes this candy and I have asked everyone I know. So, Cecil, can you give me a little information about who invented this candy treat, why they are colored orange, and any other interesting tidbits you could provide.
