English translation: at a Regional Fisheries Organization

11:50 Oct 9, 2005
English language (monolingual) [PRO]
Fisheries / EU Fisheries Policy
English term or phrase: on location
The European Commission, which has exclusive competence for fisheries policy, represents the EC in RFOs (Regional Fisheries Organizations). It is assisted by the Member States. The EC's positions are adopted in coordination with the representatives of the Member States prior to the annual meeting of each RFO or on location, to address the questions that naturally arise at these meetings. The European Commission also involves on numerous occasions representatives of the sector (fishermen and fish processors) as well as other stakeholders, in particular scientists and non-governmental organisations.

agree  Balaban Cerit: Since we are speaking about adoption of the EC's positions NOT prior to an annual meeting of a RFO, the location has to be the annual meeting of the RFO itself.

agree  Greg Olsen: Not in the meeting, but as in "filmed on location": at the actual place, rather than in the studio.

Explanation:
"... or on location" seems to be used as opposed to "prior to the annual meeting of ..." so it may mean "at the meetings".
