Some background info... 21:42 Oct 1, 2007
The term "periannual" first cropped up (forgive the pun!) as an English-Hungarian Kudoz question originating from an English source text. It is very probably the misspelling of perennial, but instead of making that assumption, I thought it was safer to ask some native speakers to rule out the possibility that it may be a valid word with a different meaning. I'm sorry if my initial question was a bit misleading. Considering the lack of credible Google sources - and the fact that none of you seem to have heard of this word before - I now tend to believe that it is indeed just a misspelling. This has reinforced the opinion of some of my Hungarian peers as well. Thank you all for your time, including those of you who commented on the suggestions. As all of you have contributed and there's no conclusive evidence I'll have to close this question without grading. If I could split the points I would, but I don't want to be unfair by giving them to just one person. Hope that's OK. Thanks again for your help. Zsuzsa |
