eight off fluids eight seperate fluids Explanation: eight off fluids => eight seperate fluids This is a usage that is mainly British. The OED (it's not in the Concise online) defines it thus: "Used with a preceding numeral to represent a quantity in production or manufacture, or an item or number of items so produced. Usu. as one off" "One-off" is the usage you will be most familiar with, often meaning "one of a kind" or custom made. It tends to be more common in the trades (plumbing, engineering supplies, etc) and manufacturing and will be seen on invoices, orders etc. I don't think it's as common as it used to be, though. https://forum.wordreference.com/threads/one-off-three-off-ni... |

Reference: It just means eight fluids. Reference information: This previous question explains it well, though I'm not sure I'd say "of the same kind". It means units or number, and is redundant. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/english/petroleum-eng-sci/5826154-... |
