I would suggest transliteration of the word.

There may be an Urdu term for this, but I'm sure it would be one of those words no would have heard.

Perhaps if someone has access to an Urdu medium math teacher, they could get an answer for this.

Regarding وظائف: I don't have much exposure to math in Urdu, so can't say for sure, but it doesn't sound right from what I know of the word 'function' and the general meaning of the word 'وظائف.

If it hasn't been too long that you edited the work you could send the conerned agency/party a note regarding your uncertainty. To find out about this term see if you can find any pakistani chat groups on irc, mirc etc...they are usually college/university students. You can ask them to check with their math teachers about this. I'll see if I can ask someone to check this. Urdu medium math is not that common so this will be a tricky one to find out.
