ВІДТЯЖКА ГІКА — снасть, яка не допускає задирання гіка вверх на повних курсах. Це особливо важливо при повороті фордевінд. Одним кінцем відтяжку прикріплюють до основи щогли чи степса, іншим — до нижньої сторони гіка. В залежності від сили вітру натяг відтяжки можна змінювати.
