A buoyant mass of hot mantle material that rises to the base of the lithosphere. Mantle plumes commonly produce volcanic activity and structural deformation in the central part of lithospheric plates.

прошу пробачення!!! звичайно - МАНТIЙНИЙ !!! а не магнiтний.
це щось в головi трапилось в цей момент, коли писав. але у приведенному словнику це видно, що там написано на росiйскiй мовi - мантийный поток - мантiйний. якби уважливо прочитав пан rubiko1976, то мiг би i не писати No, бо видно ж, що я помилився :)
