jordskred i torvmark Explanation: Peat = torv, men "torvskred" förekommer nog bara i Storbritannien, kanske på Irland. Specialfall av "landslide". |

Reference Reference information: Kerry County Council officials spent an entire day creating diversions to stop the flow of peat from the first bogslide. A dam was created to direct the bogslide away from the path of a river. Up to 30,000 people in north Kerry were left without a water supply due to polluted water courses and threatened reservoirs. [6] A boil notice was placed on the local water supply. [7] Several homes in a rural area between Tralee and Castleisland were cut off. [8] One environmental effect of the bogslide was a serious fish kill on the River Smearlagh. Thousands of "mature and juvenile" trout and salmon were killed in peat which had travelled over two miles and was at a depth of eight to ten feet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Kerry_bogslide -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 12 hrs (2008-11-25 01:43:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Peat slides in Port Stanley: # 1878: The first peat slide destroys several houses in Port Stanley. # 1886: Second peat slide destroys the exchange building and two women are killed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_history_of_the_...
