agree  JohnMcDove: Sí, creo que tus opciones son bastante válidas. Aunque todavía se pueda usar el inglés de Shakespeare en la actualidad, y sigue siendo "hoy en día", pues no pocos lo siguen representando hoy. "El inglés de hoy".

Algunas opciones adicionales.

La última en un registro colloquial, pero para referirse a todo tipo de inglés, o sea, no es lo mismo el inglés que se gasta en Harvard, que el que se gasta en Soweto, o en Perth..., por no hablar de Nueva Delhi... o Picadilly Circus.

"El inglés, tal como se usa", podría ser otra opción.

agree  Charles Davis: I was amazed to see "Englishes by place", but pluralising "English" seems to be normal now in applied linguistics (esp. in the expression "World Englishes"). I think it's horrible.
