La traducción es sobre el manual del investigador de un ensayo clínico. En esta parte habla sobre los efectos del fármaco en ratas sanas y con libre desplazamiento y dice:

The drug was also evaluated for possible effects on spontaneous locomotor activity after single SC administration at doses of XX mg/kg. Under the experimental conditions adopted, the drug administered by the SC route had no statistically significant effect on spontaneous locomotor activity.Tendencies to decreases in the spontaneous locomotor activity as well as a tendency to an increase in the duration of immobility and in rearing in the peripheral and central zones were seen at all dose levels. Because of the limited extent of the effects and the absence of statistical significance, these effects were not considered as adverse; therefore, the NOAEL is considered to be xx mg/kg.

Mi duda es con "rearing" ¿Se refiere al movimiento que hacen hacia atrás las ratas? estuve viendo unos videos y cuando las colocan en la caja de acrílico donde realizan la prueba, las ratas se mueven hacia adelante y luego hacia atrás, como con miedo o investigando, pero no sé si se refiere a eso exactamente y cuál sería una traducción apropiada.

Aunque 'postura erguida' podría ser una buena traducción de 'rearing', creo que es más completo 'exploración erguida' (ver ref. adjunta).
