I'm not convinced by the literal "regusto dulce o buen sabor de boca", suggestions much appreciated thanks

As a young innocent boy, Henry managed to survive in a hostile environment while still being true to his values, which is something rare even nowadays, and the book, far from being a fairytale, does leave you with a sweet after-taste and the feeling that, in the end, good intentions and effort are really worthwhile and do reap rewards.

Yo seguramente iría por algo de "gusto dulce" o "buen sabor de boca" como tú dices. Pero si no te convence puedes aleharte un loco y pensar qué sientes tú al leer un libro así. Una sensación cálida y agradable en el pecho y una media sonrisa dulce en rostro. Yo cuando leo un libro que me deja así también digo muy a menudo que el libro "es un caramelo".
