English term or phrase: De-rusting driving

Hola,

Necesitaría saber cómo se denominan en español esos trayectos que realizan de tanto en tanto unas locomotoras que ignoro si son convencionales o especiales, por vías en desuso con el único fin de eliminar el óxido superficial de los raíles.
En inglés se llama "De-rusting driving", literalmente "trayecto desoxidante", pero probablemente en español exista un término técnico.
