cini se da magnanimity i magnanimousness nisu bas potpuni sinonimi, iako obe rijeci dolaze od latinskog (magnanimity - magnus-great, animus-soul) (magnanimous - magnanimus-great-souled), bar prema "Collins English Dictionary". Prema navedenom rijecniku magnanimity bi bilo "generosity", a magnanimousness "generosity and nobility". Ali to ipak ne govori mnogo o stvarnoj upotrebi rijeci u danasnjem jeziku.
