Ne bih prevela kao "boja glasa" jer je ona konstantna kod svakog čoveka, dok je ovde u pitanju trenutna promena (vikanje).

Onda je vrisnuo vriskom kakvim ni jedan čistač ne bi trebao da bude sposoban da vrisne. Prvo niskim tonom, pa visokim i onda u oba tona istovremeno sve dok se koliba i moja glava nisu napunili istim zvukom a Jacko je jaukao u strahu zajedno sa njim.

A ne znam kako bi ovaj prevod zvučao čitaocima kada bi upotrebili tonalitete. Možda: Onda je vrisnuo vriskom kakvim ni jedan čistač ne bi trebao da bude sposoban da vrisne. Prvo u niskom tonalitetu, pa visokom i onda u oba tonaliteta istovremeno sve dok se koliba i moja glava nisu napunili istim zvukom a Jacko je jaukao (verovatno i on u nekom tonalitetu) u strahu zajedno sa njim.
