Seatrack 320, a tail buoy transponder unit (TBU), is a part of the Seatrack Tailbuoy Tracking System.
Не совсем понятно, почему в компании Kongsberg пишут TBU, когда по логике должно быть BTU, но, видимо, так уже устоялось. Хотелось бы грамотно обозначить это сокращение. В словаре Череповского используется термин "повторитель сигналов", а к варианту "транспондер" дается пометка "разг." (хотя я бы назвал это профессиональным жаргоном). В одной презентации была представлена схема, на которой к хвостовому бую тянутся секции и выходят на борт, где закреплен ретранслятор (https://mipt.ru/drec/about/Report/ЛобковскийМФТИ 2014.pdf)
