English term or phrase: closure
context: "Crime victims should have a meaningful voice in identifying the harms caused... and what should be done to address those harms. They should be able to move forward with their lives feeling their needs have been heard and significantly responded to. They should be assisted in moving toward healing and closure." So far we've translated the final sentence "Они должны получить помощь в процессе заживления ран, нанесённых преступлением, и (? We're allowed to be a bit free with this job, the main thing being to get the idea across.

Explanation:
toward healing and closure - раны тут чересчур.

for "closure" here -

Another situation where it'd be nice to be able to split the points, because you corrected me on the "healing" part and I did end up using "исцеление травмы". However, since the primary term queried was "closure", I'll have to go with Vadim's answer. I agree with Vassyl, that one can't speak of "forgetting".

Explanation:

"Забыть" - it is impossible. Such things are unforgettable.
"Подвести черту" or "поставить точку" - this is of bureaucracy and geometry.
And we're allowed to be a bit free with this job, is not it?
