English term or phrase: self-trigger on this state
So if you can't self-trigger on this state (complacency) because it creeps up on you. how will you prevent injuries triggered by this state?
- - Analyze small errors, bumps, bangs, misses, etc., and think about what caused you to make that mistake.
- Put visual reminders in your line of vision to remind you about the amount of
hazardous energy, danger, etc.. you are dealing with.
- Look for signs of complacency in other people - watching them will automatically bump or increase your own awareness.
- Discuss the hazards - talking about them will also increase your awareness.
- Wear personal protective equipment to minimize the severity if you do make an error (e.g. steel toed shoes in case you slip mowing the lawn). If you think about why you're putting the personal protective equipment on it will also help to fight complacency.
