Или "премиальный фильм". Я думаю, что это фильм, сценарий или идею которого предлагает режиссер (filmmaker), а постановку оплачивает киностудия. Наверно предполагается, что режиссер получит определенную долю доходов от проката этой картины и т.д. Не зря же там неустойка предусматривается.
