Draga Adami, sunt total de acord cu tine, necunoașterea lui nu e în regula. Mai ales necunoasterea sensurilor multiple ale acestui cuvant. Există și sensul de anvergură și cel de "aim,purpose" sau scop (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/scope). Cuvantul vine chiar de la asta 1525-35; < Italian scopo < Greek skopós aim, mark to shoot at; akin to skopeîn to look at (see -scope ). De asemenea, este vorba despre părerea unui istoric din secolul 19 care ar fi putut folosi sensul de bază, inițial al acestui cuvant - scop. Asker: Mulțumesc, m-am gândit și eu la scop si sunt de acord cu el, nu-i o problemă. Încă n-am decis, în funcție de context. Depinde și cum vrea redactorul, că mereu mă surprinde :)

disagree  adami: Ma deranjeaza tonul dvs. Nu spun niciodata ceva neverificat. Nici ”dispretuitor” nu era comentariul. Datoria mea este sa invat pe cei mai putin experimentati. Nu reactionez decat cand e nevoie. Ar trebui sa intelegeti importanta unui ton neutru, politicos

  -> Ma bucur ca iti pastrezi parerea. Nu m-a deranjat disagree-ul. M-a deranjat comentariul dispretuitor. "Complet imposibila" - in fiecare zi aflam lucruri noi. Verifica inainte sa dai cu pietre. Sau mai bine, nu da cu pietre deloc :)
agree  Mihaela Ghitescu: De acord cu Maria - Oxford Dictionary mentioneaza "scope" (arhaism) - A purpose, end or intention. Dat fiind ca in context este vorba de biserica, cred ca o este o trimitere la expresia "atat cu spiritul cat si cu fapta" folosita in textele bisericii.
