neutral  roxanna76: "choke" are si sensul de "clapeta de pornire". Împreuna cu "switch" poate însemna "comutatorul de pornire", nu? (sugestie)

  -> Cred ca nu e vorba de "comutator de pornire", pentru ca sensul acesta n-ar avea legatura cu " if the engine is cold". Cu toate acestea, toate propunerile de raspuns sunt binevenite, poate ar fi fost mai bine sa oferiti un raspuns si nu un comentariu.

"switch"-ul netraducându-se prin "clapeta" ci prin "buton/întrerupator/disjonctor/comutator", rezulta ca "choke switch" se traduce mai corect si mai aproape prin "buton de soc" (care poate fi si apasat si mentinut apasat)

Oricum, suntem cu totii de acord ca "socul" este un dispozitiv de pornire la rece.
