Orbis 6-TE (Tamper-Evident Torque Tester) The Orbis 6-TE, while retaining all the properties of the Orbis, offers an additional facility specifically for testing tamper-evident closures. Both the basic Orbis and the Orbis TE can capture the peak torque necessary to overcome friction and initiate rotation of the closure – the ‘slip torque’. However the Orbis TE will also capture a (lower) 2nd peak – the ‘bridge torque’. This corresponds to the point at which the tensile load applied to the ‘bridges’ (connecting the closure to a tamper-evident band or drop-ring) is sufficient for the first bridge to break. A single button push will then allow both values to be downloaded to a PC or printer. Reference: http://www.mecmesin.com/UCM/home/product_view.asp?proID=176&... |
