"The annual Sardine Run is one of nature’s great wonders. Arguably the largest migratory event on Earth (rivaling the Serengeti’s wildebeest migration), for three months each year hundreds of millions of Southern African pilchards — or sardines — aggregate in massive shoals off South Africa’s east coast and ride the current as it charges north."

"... the Sardine Run is an annual spectacle of sardines riding prevailing currents along the eastern coast of South Africa. It creates a feeding frenzy for sharks below the water and dive-bombing birds above the water, plus unforgettable dive opportunities for you. If you love the ocean, marine life or underwater photography, or just want to challenge yourself on a spectacularly rare trip, this unique journey offers an experience like no other."

Notes to answerer
