O processo de registro de marcas não é algo automático. Precisa ser peticionado (ou reivindicado) pela parte interessada no país do seu interesse. Isso se aplica também aos domínios na internet (chaamados Top Level Domains, ou TLD). Lembro-que de quando eu geria uma empresa online, de vez em quando recebia e-mails de empresas no exterior manifestando interesse em registrar o nome do domínio em seus respectivos países. No caso do registro de marcas, não é diferente. Registrar em um país não é suficiente para ter validade mundial. Leio o termo nesse contexto.
