Sorry Edward, I should say I completely disagre with you, Here there is a sentence, indicates the Prosumer refers to what Advin Toffler had in mind; "progressive blurring of the line that separates producer from consumer". So if the meaning has changed over time, it's another story; has nothing to do with the basic meaning. In addition I think Edward has mixed one Persian word with one english word to invent a new term. In our grammar we don't have such a rule.
For asker I have some suggestion.
Dear asker, in my opinion, you should, first of all, find the Third Wave translation in farsi, the book is very well-known and take advantage of its popularity. So, you should follow the translator's term.
Second, If توصرف کننده is very common term in our language (I found it in the net just twice) you should use it. All translators should follow it to prevent miscellaneous translations just for one term. It doesn't any mattrer we like it or not. we should just respect the public idea.

the Persian portmanteau word is interesting, but the Persian Wikipdedia explanation is incomplete...the original meaning by Tofler may have been "producer+consumer" but the meaning today has become "professional+consumer" and refers most often to electronic/photographic equipment for consumers that is of professional quality.
