Please give exact pronunciation too - could there be a tashdid on the B as in Biblical Hebrew, for example?

Yes there is a Tashdid on B sound.

It pronounced like' sabbat'.

And I think it means a religious holiday which is:

a) Sunday, considered as a day of rest and prayer by most Christian churches
b) Saturday, considered as a day of rest and prayer in the Jewish religion and some Christian churches

I need to reconsider my explanation because apparently "سبت" does not need a Tashdid and my other colleague is right in this case.

روز سبت یاشنبه
مطابق تورات خداوند شش روز به آفرینش جهان پرداخت و در روز هفتم که شنبه بود استراحت کرد
بنابراین یهودیان این روز را تعطیل میکنند کارکردن دراین روز حرام است و بیش از سی مورد از موارد ممنوعیت در این روز را ذکر میکنند
البته در میان گروه ها و دسته های یهودیان درباره تعداد نواهی اختلاف نظر هست مثلا بعضی گروه ها بعضی موارد را مصداق کار نمیدانند ولی بعضی محافظه کاران احتیاط بیشتری به خرج میدهند
