Yes, of course turndown service is more than just folding down the blankets, but that is the main service. My suggestion for keeping the English term is based on my experience as an in-house translator of hotel descriptions. The translators had many discussions about this and I contacted several hotels in Oslo to enquire about terms they used. They tended to prefer the term "turndown service".
If the term must be translated, then "aftenservice" has a much better ring to it than "kveldsforberedelse".

Turndown service is much more than just folding down the blankets. I still think that kveldsforberedelse (I agree to skip av sengen) is a conveniant term to use. Kveldsoppredning is more related to the bed and not to any extra services that may be included in the turndown service.

The evening service typically known as turndown service can be many things. Removing and folding the bed cover, fluffing pillows, placing chocolates are typical examples; the better hotels also replace used towels and empty shampoo bottles. In Scandinavia, this service is normally reserved for VIP listed guests - but it can usually be ordered from housekeeping at no charge. Internally, turndown is used as a term - but vs guests, kveldsoppredning or aftenservice are more common. Kveldsforberedelse av sengen is not a common term, especially with 'av sengen' as a qualifier - this would suggest that the bed isn't really prepared for its purpose, which of course it is. To suggest that turndown should NOT be translated, but used as is, is deeply wrong in so many ways. I say this after five years of rooms division management in Scandinavia's then premier hotel, the SAS Scandinavia in Oslo. It has dropped its standards since, and turndown was probably the first to go.

They usually call it by the English term. Just as the English term "service" is a term used in Norwegian, the term "turndown service" is used by the Norwegian hotels offering this service.

Not a common term in Norwegian, as no Norwegian hotels offer this. Kveldsoppredning probably comes closest, with 500+ G-hits. For the tourism translators following this thread, this is the art of removing the bed cover, fluffing up pillows, and placing chocolates on same. The better hotels also replace any used towels. For many guests, it is deeply annoying, interrupting the afternoon nap.
