garden island tropeøy, øyparadis Explanation: Hi János; There isn't actually a good Norwegian term for garden island, as we don't have any of those around here. So we tend to describe them as tropical islands or island paradises. Second, if there were a Norwegian island with such a nickname, it would be in the ironic sense - as if to describe a barren rock or cliff of an island. I know of no such island, however.
