Need help with some of the error codes pertaining to making an order or returning an order through online platform.
I really have no idea what is the meaning of 'upstream' in software term with description such as:

1. Failed to process the return with the upstream. (error code: order_upstream_return_failed)
2. The request timed out while contacting the upstream. (error code: order_upstream_timeout)

other than that, I also found this reference in their company websites explaining about the error codes:

- upstream_order_creation_failed: generic error code to use for any other error condition where a specific message should be returned to the end-user

In IT, upstream refers to the direction in which data can be transferred from the client to the server (uploading) [likewise, downstream refers to data sent from a network service provider to a customer (downloading), i.e. muat turun (ke pelanggan)].

Your examples:

1. Failed to process the return with the upstream. => Gagal memproses pengembalian semasa muat naik ke pelayan.
2. The request timed out while contacting the upstream. => Permintaan habis masa semasa menghubungi pelayan.

You have a choice to use this IT term upstream in its English form because it is universal and has been done, or use the translation suggested. [I have done it both ways, depending on the client's wish.]
