A phreak is someone who breaks into the telephone network illegally, typically to make free long-distance phone calls or to tap phone lines. The term is now sometimes used to include anyone who breaks or tries to break the security of any network. Explanation:
Acīm redzama šī vārda līdzība ar angļu vārdu "freak", lai arī adoptēts ar vārda "phone" sākumu. Latviešu valodā gan līdz šim neesmu manījis šo terminu, tāpēc piedāvāju tulkojumu pēc esošajiem terminiem un paša vārda loģikas.

Arī angļu aprakstā ir minēts "who breaks into", tātad - "kāds, kas ielaužas". Līdz ar to, šis varētu būt tas retais gadījums, kad tulkojums precīzāk atklāj jēdziena saturu par oriģinālo terminu! :)
Es pieņemu še pievienoto phreak raksturojumu par pareizu, lai gan šaubas varētu rasties, jo, piemēram, Wikipēdijā ir citi akcenti.
