English term or phrase: Live or Die
I actually want a whole phrase please, which is for a persons joke moto for a book:

'Live or Die, Motherfucker'

Apologies for the question, it's what I've been asked to find! The closest equivalent will do. The live or die part is that they have been given a choice, which is a matter of life or death. Thanks

Latin translation:vive aut morere, (o) fututor matrum
Explanation:
'Aut' ('or') indicates that only one or the other alternative is acceptable, 'vel' (also = 'or') that either alternative is acceptable.

The 'o' is not obligatory, but common with vocatives, particularly with those which lack a distinct case ending.

'Matrum' ('of mothers') is an objective genitive dependent on 'fututor', 'fucker', from 'futuere', 'to fuck'. A stronger word for 'fucker' would be 'defututor', from 'defutuere', 'to fuck down, i.e., constantly or vigourously.

agree  William Short: notwithstanding the meaning, "matrum defutator" has a nice ring to it.

-> I agree that 'matrum defututor' forms a rather more pleasant clausula. Good suggestion!

agree  Leonardo Marcello Pignataro (X): What about a singular "matris", since the abusive meaning of "motherfucker" originally refers to incest and "mater una est"? :-) Have a good day, inter eruditos doctissime!
