it wouldn't have cooled 'em off any if you know what I mean.この 'emが何を指すのかも合わせて教えていただければ幸いです。

とりあえず、

おれが何を言っているのかわかったところで、頭を冷やすことにはならなかっただろう

としてみたのですが、ご意見をお聞かせください。

Asker: Thank you for your help. I think I understand your explanation. But then why 「重くさせない」? Shouldn't it be something like”尻の熱を冷ますことにはならない”? Since the word is "cool," not "weigh, or make it heavier"?
